In 1870 he was a wagonmaker living with Peter and Margaret Gross and their many kids. In 1910 he lived in Strassburg and still had a 17 year old daughter Maude S living at home. In 1930 he was widowed and living with his son Oliver and his wife. He probably had other children between Oliver and Maude, but I wasn't able to find him in the 1880, 1890, 1900 censuses.
