Amiel was a salesman in a department store in 1910. He was an enumerator for the 1910 census in Strasburg, Ohio. He was married, with two children.
In 1920, his wife has become head of the household, working as a saleslady in a grocery store, but is still listed as being married. She's being helped at home by her mother. In 1930 his wife has remarried to a man with children about same age as hers, and had another child. Did Amiel die, leaving his wife a widow? No! He shows up again only when he dies, in Akron Ohio, 1958.
